About Me

For now, you can call me Robyn. The name came about because my actual name, which is Ghanaian in origin, tends to confuse people, and when I meet sketchy people on the street and accidentally tell them my name, they usually mishear it as Robyn.

I'm currently a junior at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA majoring in English and minoring in Health Policy and French. In other words, like most college students, I'm majoring in procrastination, minoring in sleep, and eating/reading too much for my own good. Unlike most English majors, however, I was once a Neurobiology major and pre-med. That means I've taken Organic Chemistry (!!!!!) and love biology and chemistry with a passion.

Most importantly, though, I love food and I love books. So many of the pictures from my youth involve me wearing ill-advised plaid jumpers and reading on beanbags in libraries. I think I first realized that food and books were best in combination when I read the Redwall books by Brian Jacques. I still have a soft spot in my heart for those furry tales; Jacques would describe the opulent feasts of the forest animals in blissful detail, causing many of my relatives to ask why I was drooling on my books. Cute.

This blog is about the restaurants that I try in Cambridge and on my (limited) travels, books that I'm reading, and any other food- or book- (or both!) related events that I happen to come across.
